With a 48% literacy rate, government officials take pride in it.
When a large portion of the population lacks access to quality education, it becomes easier for government officials and political elites to manipulate public opinion. Complex policies go unquestioned, misleading narratives spread easily, and false promises sound convincing when people lack the tools to critically analyze them.
Ignorance survives on comfort. Growth begins with uncomfortable truth.
