Today, we proudly celebrate an exceptional leader, educator, and changemaker, Vashta B. Martin, whose life and work continue to inspire many across Liberia and beyond.

Vashta is a certified Civic Leader of the YALI Accra, Ghana Cohort 37, with a strong passion for civic engagement and youth empowerment. Through her impactful initiatives, she has led efforts to educate adolescents on the prevention of teenage pregnancy across multiple schools—helping to shape a generation of informed, confident, and responsible young people.

A dedicated and results-driven professional, Vashta has served as a volunteer leader with Young Life in Maryland County for over six years, mentoring and guiding young students while instilling values of integrity, leadership, and positive mindset. Her commitment to education and child development is further reflected in her work as a classroom-focused educator, creating engaging and nurturing learning environments.

In 2022, she was selected as a President’s Young Professional and served at the Ministry of Education in the Office of the Minister as an Executive Secretary—demonstrating her competence in leadership and public service.

Academically accomplished, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Development from William V. S. Tubman University and a Master of Arts in Education Leadership and Policy (Comparative Education) from Beijing Normal University, China.

Vashta also made history as the first female President and Coordinator of the Liberian Students Association in Beijing, where she exemplified inclusive and transformational leadership.

The people of Liberia may be a peace-loving nation, but our commitment to defending our sovereignty must never be mistaken for weakness. The strength of the Armed Forces of Liberia is not measured only by numbers or weaponry, but by the courage, discipline, and unwavering patriotism of the men and women who stand ready to defend this nation.

Let it be clearly understood: no external pressure, military buildup, or attempt at intimidation will undermine the territorial integrity of Liberia. Our borders are not negotiable, and every inch of our land will be defended with resolve.

We believe strongly in peaceful dialogue and diplomatic engagement with our neighbors, including Guinea. Diplomacy remains the first and most responsible path for resolving tensions between nations. However, diplomacy must never be mistaken for surrender.

Should any action threaten the sovereignty or territorial integrity of our nation, the Armed Forces of Liberia stands prepared and capable of responding decisively in defense of the Republic.

At the same time, the Liberian Legislature remains ready to take all necessary constitutional steps to ensure that the nation is fully prepared to protect its sovereignty and national interest.

Liberia will always stand for peace—but we will stand even stronger for our freedom, our dignity, and the protection of our land.

Mr. and Mrs. Bleetahn joyfully commemorate their 17th Wedding Anniversary, marking seventeen years of grace, faith, and enduring love.

United by God’s abundant grace, the couple entered a sacred covenant seventeen years ago, vowing before God to love, honor, and cherish one another. Since that holy beginning, they have walked hand in hand, anchored in Christ, trusting His Word, and witnessing His unfailing faithfulness through every season of life.

Through moments of joy and times of challenge, their bond has been strengthened, their commitment preserved, and their love made steadfast—standing as a testament that when God is the foundation, vows endure and faith prevails.

As they celebrate this milestone, Mr. and Mrs. Bleetahn pray that their union will inspire others to embrace prayer, forgiveness, humility, and lifelong commitment.
