In this exclusive cosplay interview, I sit down with Wanmini Dhahamsa, a talented young artist, art teacher, and English literature teacher, who brought Daenerys Targaryen (The Dragon Mother) to life at Colombo Comic Expo 2025.
Inspired by the iconic character from Game of Thrones, Wanmini recreated Daenerys Targaryen using detailed costume design and dragon props, capturing the strength, elegance, and power of one of television’s most legendary female characters. Her cosplay stood out at Comic Expo 2025, combining artistic craftsmanship with powerful stage presence.

මුලු ලෝකය පුරාම පමණක් නෙවෙයි අපේ ලංකාවේ පවා සුවහසක් ප්රේක්ශකයන් අමන්දානන්දයට පත් කරපු සහ තවත් වසර ගණනාවක් යනතුරු ඒ හා සමාන කතාවක් බිහි නොවන තරමටම ප්රේක්ශකයන්ගේ හුස්ම නතර කරවපු ඒ කතා මාළාවේ ප්රධාන චරිතය ඔබට මතකද?

වෘත්තියෙන් මේ වන විට චිත්ර ශිල්පිණියක සහ චිත්ර සහ ඉංග්රීසි විෂයයන් උගන්වන ගුරුවරියක ලෙසින් තමන්ගේ කළා ජීවිතය ආරම්භ කර තිබෙන ඇය මගේත් සමග බෙදා හදා ගත්තේ ඇයගේ මේ පුංචි වයසට වඩා මුහුකුරා ගිය ප්රවීණ කළා ශිල්පිණියෙකුගේ කතාවක්.
මම එහෙම කියන්න හේතුවුණු කාරණාව වෙන්නේ ඇය විසින් පියවරෙන් පියවර චිත්ර කළාව වෙත පිවිසුණු ගමන්මග මා සමග විස්තර කළ අයුරු නිසාවෙනුයි.
එම චිත්ර කළාවෙන් ලැබූ ආභාශය ඔස්සේ යමින් මේ වන විට ආදායමක් ඉපයිය හැකි මට්ටමට ඇය සතු කුසලතා වර්ධනය කර ගැනිමට ඇයට ගතවී ඇත්තේ බොහොම සුළු කාලයක් පමණයි.
එමෙන්ම සාර්ථක කළා ජීවිතයක් ගොඩනැගූ නිසාම විවිද කතාමාළා සහ පොප් සංස්කෘතිය ඔස්සේ එන චරිතවලට කොස්ප්ලේයර්වරියක් ලෙසින් රඟ දක්වමින් එම චරිත එහි ප්රේක්ශකයන් වෙත බොහොම අලංකාර අයුරින් සමීප කරවීමටත් දැන් ඇයට හැකියාව ලැබී තිබෙනවා.
ඔබ මේ ඡායාරූපයෙන් දකින්නේ ඇගේ දැනුම, කාලය සහ කළා හැකියාව භාවිතා කරමින් ඇය විසින් Game of Thrones රසිකයන් වෙනුවෙන් නිර්මාණය කරන ලද ඩයිනේරියස් ටාගේරියන් සහ ඇයගේ දුෂ්ට, නපුරු මකරුන්ගේ කොස්ප්ලේ චරිතයයි.
