Hello ravers,

First of all we sincerely apologize that the night at THE DUNGEON by Slytherin on the night of March 21 ended earlier than expected.

This was the first event organized by Slytherin and what we wanted was simple. We wanted to give the crowd a full experience until morning the way nights like this are meant to be. From what we have seen at previous large scale events in Sri Lanka, some events were allowed to continue until early morning with the support of the relevant authorities. With that understanding we planned the schedule to run until sunrise and the full set times were shared publicly in advance.

According to the regulations in Sri Lanka the official sound permit for this event like most events was granted only until 1AM. In the past some events were able to continue beyond that time with additional approvals and coordination. However due to several recent incidents that happened at other events in the country, the situation has become more strict and the same flexibility was not possible this time. As this was one of the first large scale events happening after those situations, we had to follow the instructions given by the authorities when they arrived at the venue and the event was stopped around 2AM.

We also want to address the rumors saying the event was stopped early for profit.
This is not true. Ending the event early caused us a loss and more importantly it stopped us from giving the experience we spent months working to create for our first show.

Some people asked why the B2B performance happened earlier in the night. This decision was made based on artist requests to perform during peak crowd energy so the audience could get the best possible moment. All artists were fully paid as agreed and the running order was arranged only to make the show better not to shorten it.

There are also rumors saying other event companies were involved in stopping this event. This is not true. The EDM in Sri Lanka has always grown with mutual support and we respect every organizer in the industry. We will continue working with the authorities and with the community to make future events happen in a better and safer way.

Because the event ended early some of the artists were unable to give the full experience we promised.
For that reason at our upcoming events, we will make it right for everyone who came to DUNGEON and make sure you get the moment you came for.
