From Observation to Transformation: A Journey with Medihelp Hospital

Over the past year, it has been a privilege to partner with Medihelp Hospital in shaping how healthcare professionals engage with patients and represent the organisation.
Working across several main branches, we conducted on-the-job training sessions combined with observation-based learning, ensuring that sustainability is embedded through supervision and organisational standards.
In healthcare, technical expertise alone is not enough. What truly defines the patient experience is:

• Empathy - understanding the anxiety of patients and responding with compassion.
• Grooming & Etiquette – because first impressions matter, and every interaction reflects the brand image.
• Behavioural Skills – Consistency across branches ensures that every patient feels valued and respected.

This journey has highlighted the importance of human connection in healthcare. Employees are not just delivering a service; they are carrying the hospital’s identity, and their professionalism directly impacts trust and care.

A heartfelt thank you to the initiative team, HHR, senior L&D executive, and many L&D personnel I met during this journey, and management for their commitment to employee development and for driving this vision forward. (L&D is not an easy task; transforming people and gathering employees for training wasn't easy at all, as they face many internal and external obstacles.)

I am proud to see how these workshops have evolved from last year to this year, strengthening the culture of empathy, consistency, and excellence.
