This valuable educational initiative was jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Intensive Care Nurses Association (SLICNA) and the Sri Lanka Nurses Association (SLNA).
The success of this workshop was made possible through the generous support and guidance of the Principal of Kalutara Nursing College, Mr. T. R. J. Thalagala, together with the dedicated academic and non-academic staff of the college, whose cooperation greatly contributed to the smooth conduct of the program.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Disna Kumari, highlighting the importance of nutrition and health awareness. The session on professional needs and responsibilities of nurses was conducted by Mr. W. A. Keerthirathna, President of the Sri Lanka Nurses Association and President of the Sri Lanka Nursing Council, adding significant value to the program.
During the program, the organizing committee also decided to initiate a continuous study program on nutrition to further strengthen the knowledge and awareness of nursing students regarding nutrition, obesity prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices.
