DIFFUSER BRANCH

A diffuser branch nozzle is a versatile fire-fighting tool that can deliver both a solid, concentrated jet of water and a wide, diffuse spray. Often called a "Navy-type" nozzle due to its compact size and use on naval ships, it gives the operator the option of a hollow jet, a protective spray, or complete shut-off.

STREAM
This type of nozzle operates by controlling the water flow at the outlet to change the pattern of the water stream.

Variable stream: By twisting a sleeve or part of the nozzle, the firefighter can adjust the water stream from a straight, powerful jet for maximum reach to a wide spray for cooling and protection.

Constant flow: Despite the change in pattern, many diffuser nozzles use a "constant flow" technology, ensuring the water output remains consistent across different settings.

MECHANISM
The nozzle contains internal components that manipulate the pressure and velocity of the water. In contrast to a simple nozzle that accelerates flow by decreasing pressure, a diffuser can be configured to increase pressure by slowing down the flow, or vice-versa, to achieve the desired effect.
Use cases and applications.

The ability to switch between stream patterns makes the diffuser branch nozzle highly adaptable for various fire-fighting situations.

USE CASES
Marine and off-shore applications: These nozzles are frequently used on naval ships and other off-shore vessels due to their compact size and robust construction.

General fire-fighting: It is a standard tool for many fire brigades for general suppression, washdowns, and dust suppression.

Protective spray: The wide, fan-like water spray creates a protective shield for firefighters against intense heat, sparks, and smoke.

Adjustable stream: It is ideal for situations where both a concentrated, long-range stream and a close-quarters spray are needed.
