That tiny click you use to train your pet holds over 100 years of science, psychology, and brilliance 🧠
It all began in the early 1900s with Ivan Pavlov, a scientist who discovered that dogs could learn to associate a neutral sound with food🐕🔔

Soon, they’d salivate just from hearing it. This was the start of classical conditioning, and it shaped the future of behavioural science.

Fast forward a few decades, B.F. Skinner expanded on Pavlov’s ideas with operant conditioning.

He proved that animals (and humans) repeat actions that are followed by rewards. He introduced the idea of using a marker signal (like a sound) to clearly communicate which behavior is being rewarded.

In the 1940s, Skinner’s students, Marian and Keller Breland, were the first to apply these principles in the real world, training thousands of animals using sounds and cues🐕🐇🐦They laid the foundation for what we now know as clicker training.

Then in the 1980s, Karen Pryor, a marine mammal trainer and behavioral expert, brought this method into our homes🐬🌊: She introduced the clicker as a practical, kind, and science-backed way to train pets, making behavior shaping accessible to everyone.

So the next time you click and treat, know this:
You’re not just training, you’re tapping into a century of proven psychology, designed to help your pet learn faster, better, and stress-free🐾🏆

Because training isn’t just about obedience, It’s about building trust 💙
