🗣️ Do you feel like you're taking care of others way too much?

This often comes from not having had a secure attachment with your parents as a kid.

They were too busy and most of the times you felt neglected with barely any attention coming your way.

And because neglect is so painful, your inner child most likely didn't want to feel that pain again.

So what you did was suppress it and then you invented ways to get the attention you needed as a child.

Your inner child is getting love and attention in the form of appraisal and approval for doing good things like helping or taking care of others.

Taking care of others was a coping strategy that has now become part of your identity.

And one way some people become aware of this ego mask (The Caretaker) they are wearing is via the recurrent physical pain or illness.

The body is actually telling you: "Knock knock, you've been suppressing your emotions and your inner child needs you."

The chronic pain, the migraines, the auto-immune diseases are not random.

Many factors play a role in regards to why the illness is there.

But a big aspect behind illnesses comes from the emotions you've been suppressing and from the inner child wounds you've never healed.

The body is constantly whispering and giving us signals. But the more we ignore those signals, the louder the body will scream later on (chronic pain and illness).

Wars, insensitivity, crimes, corruption, you name it.

Most of those come from adults with wounded inner children.

Children that were:

1- Traumatized and never taught how to sit with their emotions.

2- Smashed across the face for expressing themselves and were told to shut up and stop crying.

3- Left alone and unattended, where they never learned how to process how they're feeling.

It is so sad how we're in 2024 and still so many schools around the world are teaching the same old subjects.

It is time to start teaching kids how to:

- Express how they're feeling
- Process their emotions
- Name the emotion
- Breathe

One book I recommend for kids is:

"MAYA THE MINDFUL MONEY:
A reminder to breathe when the monkey mind takes over" - Sara Boutine
