Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has suffered a setback after the High Court allowed the auction of his Dari Business Park in Karen to proceed over a loan dispute with a commercial bank.

In a ruling delivered on May 20, the court authorized the sale of the multi-billion-shilling property, with proceeds set to recover a reported Ksh2.2 billion loan. However, the court temporarily halted the auction of another linked property, Entim Sidai, pending determination of the case.

The judge also ordered Tuju to deposit Ksh50 million as security within 30 days, warning that failure to comply could trigger the auction of the second property.

The case marks a major escalation in the ongoing legal and financial battle between Tuju and the lending institution.
