The Green Rescue Foundation
INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR
PREVENTING THE EXPLOITATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT IN WAR AND ARMED CONFLICT
Today, the world pauses to observe the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict, a day that reminds us that in every war, nature also bleeds.

When conflict erupts, it is not only lives that are lost, rivers are polluted, forests destroyed, wildlife displaced, and fertile lands turned into wastelands. The environment, which sustains all life, becomes an unseen casualty of human violence.

At Green Rescue Foundation, we believe that peace and environmental protection are inseparable. There can be no lasting peace on a planet ravaged by destruction. It is our collective responsibility to advocate for policies that shield our ecosystems even in times of instability, and to remind the world that true victory lies not in conquest, but in coexistence.

We call upon governments, global leaders, and citizens everywhere to ensure that environmental protection remains central to peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Let us raise our voices for the voiceless, the rivers, the forests, and the soil that sustain us all.

Let peace protect the planet, and let the planet sustain peace.
