SISC encourages the development of partnerships within government and non government bodies to support the growth of community sustainability programs over the long-term as communities take a fresh look at their future and find ways to become more sustainable. The organization initiated its ideas in 2011 and started its design and planning in 2012 after realizing a felt need to intensify sustainable community initiated program. In 2013 January members of SISC came together and passed a resolution to register the organization with the NGO council as a non- governmental organization.
