WHAT IS SALVATION?
Friend, let’s keep it simple. Salvation means God rescuing us from sin and giving us new life through Jesus Christ.
Here’s the truth !
• We’ve all sinned (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God.
• The result of sin is death and eternal separation (Romans 6:23).
• But God loved us too much to leave us lost.
• He sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, and He rose again so we can have eternal life (John 3:16).
Salvation is not about “being good” or “joining a church.”
It’s about believing in Jesus, turning from sin, and receiving Him as Lord and Savior.
When you are saved:
✅ Your sins are forgiven.
✅ You become a child of God.
✅ You receive the Holy Spirit.
✅ You have eternal life in heaven.
Think of it this way: you were drowning in sin, but Jesus jumped in, pulled you out, and gave you a brand-new life. That’s salvation.
Romans 10:9 says: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Salvation is God’s free gift. All you have to do is receive it.
Practical Examples of Hearing the Voice of God: part 2
Hearing God’s voice can feel like a mystery, but it’s often more about learning to recognize how He speaks to us in everyday life. Here are some real-life examples that show how you might hear from God:
1. A Bible Verse That Speaks to You
Imagine you’re feeling anxious about a big decision, like moving to a new city or starting a new job. You decide to read your Bible for some comfort. As you flip through the pages, a verse like Proverbs 3:5-6 stands out to you: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” This verse seems to speak directly to your situation, giving you a sense of clarity and peace. It’s a moment where God’s words are reaching out to guide you.
2. Feeling a Sense of Peace or Unease
Let’s say you’re considering buying a house or making a major purchase. As you pray about it, you notice you feel a deep sense of peace about going forward with it, while the thought of other options makes you uneasy. This peace or discomfort might be God’s way of signaling what’s right for you. Remember how Colossians 3:15 says, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts”? That peace can often be a sign that you’re on the right track.
3. Wise Words from a Friend
You’re struggling with a tough choice and decide to talk it over with a trusted friend. During your chat, they share a perspective or Scripture that really resonates with you and helps you see things more clearly. It feels like they’ve said exactly what you needed to hear. Proverbs 15:22 says, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” Sometimes, God uses others to give you the insight you need.
4. Open Doors and Opportunities
Picture this: You’ve been praying about whether to take on a new role or start a new project. Suddenly, you start noticing doors opening—people offer help, resources become available, and you receive encouragement from unexpected places. It feels like everything is falling into place. This might be God’s way of showing you that this opportunity is part of His plan for you.
5. A Sudden Thought or Impression
Sometimes, while you’re going about your day or praying, you get a sudden urge to call a friend, help someone in need, or take a certain action. This feeling comes with a sense of urgency or clarity. It could be God nudging you to take a specific step. In 2 Timothy 1:7, Paul talks about how the Spirit gives us “power, love, and self-discipline.” These impressions might be the Holy Spirit guiding you to act.
6. A Meaningful Dream
Every once in a while, you might have a dream that feels unusually vivid or significant. For instance, you might dream about a particular direction for your life or a calling you feel passionate about. While not every dream has a special meaning, some can be a way God communicates with us. In the Bible, people like Joseph and Daniel received important messages through dreams. If you have a dream that stands out, it’s worth praying about and seeking further guidance.
Conclusion
Hearing God’s voice is about recognizing the various ways He communicates with us in our daily lives. Whether through a Bible verse, a feeling of peace, wise counsel, open doors, sudden thoughts, or even dreams, God is always speaking. By staying attentive and open to these signs, you’ll become better at hearing and understanding His guidance in your life.
