UPDATE: Ex Police Spokesperson Charles Owino says Nobody will defeat President William Ruto in 2027 since Raila Odinga is politically finished

In an apparent reference to opposition chief Raila Odinga, Owino says that the former PM is politically finished

Owino says that Raila's political dominance is ending and it may be painful to many of his supporters.

He underscores that President Ruto defeated Raila in the 2022 presidential poll despite the latter having the support of the then incumbency led by ex-president Uhuru Kenyatta.

He urges the people of Siaya to join the UDA party for, he says, the era of Raila's Orange Democratic Movement party is soon coming to an end.

Owino further says that Luos and Kalenjins (Ruto's tribe) are both Nilotes who came from South Sudan and thus should work together.

UPDATE: Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) reveals reasons on why Ezra Chiloba was suspended.

The reasons are;

1. Defaults to the tune of Kes 28.9M for mortgages approved & granted without consideration of the contract term

2. Refinancing mortgages to the tune of Kes 364.8M for staff who lack evidence of the upgrades and/or improvements for their purchased and/or construction houses

3. Material Variance of more than 20% in Property Valuation between the Government and Privately Contracted Valuers

4. Understatement of loan balances for former staff of the Authority

5. Inadequate approvals of Architectural Plans/Designs for Construction Mortgage Facility therefore exposing the authority to abuse of the facility and financial risk

6. Failure to undertake timely Mortgage Insurance Protection Advance for the property

Following the suspension of Chiloba as CA’s Director General, Christopher Wambua was appointed to the position in acting capacity in an announcement made by CA Board Chair Mary Wambui Mungai.
