A dark-haired girl strolls the neighborhood lane,
A country town tucked inside New York rain.
Her cat on a leash, quite proud, quite sure,
As if this small walk were a grand world tour. 🐈

Winter boots thump on the old stone way,
Yet spring has found her thoughts today.
Flowers lean close, butterflies dare, 🦋
To flirt with the chill present in the air.

She smiles envisioning blossoms, brave and new, 🌺
While carrying aches the last year grew.
Some winter days are heavy, some quietly hard,
Love leave its mark with each tender scar.

But hope steps lightly beside her now,
Soft as the breeze brushing branch and bough.
Better days feel closer, not far, not few,
Like buds that open when ready to bloom. 🌷

So she walks on—cat, boots, and heart in tow,
Past what has hurt, toward what will grow. 🌻
