Hell House Band

Open heart surgery recovery is painful and slow primarily due to the extensive nature of the surgery, involving cutting through the sternum (sternotomy) and the subsequent healing process. The sternum takes several months to heal, and during this time, patients experience pain, stiffness, and potential clicking or rubbing sensations with movement. Additionally, nerve damage and muscle strain from the surgery contribute to the discomfort.
