Eleventh Hour Rescue is made up of dedicated individuals who believe that innocent pets deserve love and a place to live where they are honored and cared for. We rescue dogs and cats at the "eleventh hour"--when they are scheduled to be put to death by shelters who can no longer care for them. We give the dogs and cats all the medical attention they require, a place to live, and through our adopti

Please help us welcome three amazing Louisiana pups who are making the trip north this weekend in search of the forever families they deserve. ❤️

🐶 Tyson is a handsome 1-year-old boy with a big smile, an even bigger heart, and a love for making new friends. Friendly, affectionate, and playful, Tyson is happiest when he's surrounded by people or romping around with other dogs.

🐶 Zahara has already spent her life caring for others. This sweet mama dog was left behind after her puppies were rescued, but we couldn't let her story end there. Now it's Zahara's turn to be loved, spoiled, and cherished. She is friendly, goofy, affectionate, and ready for a fresh start.

🐶 Cinder is an 11-month-old black Lab mix who is all wiggles, tail wags, and happy energy. At under 40 pounds, she's the perfect medium-sized companion and gets along wonderfully with both people and other dogs.

All three are microchipped, altered, and up to date on vaccines. Now they just need families willing to give them the second chance they deserve.

🏡 Interested in adopting? Apply at EHRDOGS.org so you're ready to meet them when they arrive!

Let's show Tyson, Zahara, and Cinder what a New Jersey welcome looks like. ❤️🐾

When you volunteer or work at our rescue, there are so many happy moments. And when you care for these animals, they never truly leave your heart. ❤️

That’s why getting messages like this — even 8 years later — are some of the sweetest moments and always make our day:

“Wanted to say a massive thank you to you all! We adopted our dog Brooke 8 years ago from y’all and we couldn’t have been more grateful to have her as part of our lives! I don’t know if y’all get updates often, but wanted to share some current pictures and the picture from the day we rescued her!”

Thank you, Claire, for sharing this beautiful update on our girl Brooke. Seeing these animals thriving in loving homes, even years later, means absolutely everything to us. 🐾

If you were looking for a sign to adopt a rescue — this is it.

And please always feel free to send updates on your adopted animals! Once you adopt from Eleventh Hour, you become part of our family of paws, volunteers, staff, supporters, and adopters. That connection doesn’t end the moment you walk out our doors — it stays with us forever.

We also encourage our adopters to consider donating in honor of their furry family members through our Giving Tree campaign so their names can be remembered on our wall forever. ❤️

We are currently at $7,450 of our $50,000 goal. These funds help us continue caring for the animals who come into our rescue throughout the years to find their forever home.

Kylo, we’ve known you since October 2019.

And honestly, it’s both a blessing and a heartbreak.

A blessing because we’ve gotten to watch you grow, heal, and show us your goofy, loving personality.

But a heartbreak because all of that growth has happened while you’ve been waiting in a kennel.

Kylo is a 6-year-old, 45-pound survivor with an incredible story—rescued from a Texas shelter after overcoming a broken jaw and skin condition, later finding his way to New Jersey. He’s had a home before, but through no fault of his own, he’s back with us and still waiting for the right fit.

He’s playful, food-motivated, loves toys and car rides, and will absolutely try to curl up in your lap if you let him. He does best with a confident, experienced adopter and a calm home where he can feel safe and understood.

✔ Housetrained & crate trained
✔ Neutered, microchipped, vaccinated
✔ Adoption fee fully sponsored

Kylo is ready for someone who sees him—not just his past or his quirks, but his heart. 💫

Gretal and Pongo are the only pups left in our A Classroom!

Help us clear the classroom by opening your home to a pup in need — whether it’s for a few weeks or a few months. We can help provide food and supplies if needed.

“I can’t foster, I work full-time.”
A pup relaxing in a crate for 8 hours is still better than spending all day in a kennel run.

“I can’t foster, I already have a dog.”
If your dog is friendly, fostering may be easier than you think! You already have a routine, and many of our dogs love other dogs. Think of it as a sleepover for your dog’s new friend.

“I can’t foster, I have kids.”
We have plenty of dogs that absolutely adore kids.

“I can’t foster, I’ll get too attached.”
You might cry when they leave — but they’re usually happy tears. Fostering helps dogs decompress, relax, and show their true personalities outside the stressful kennel environment, helping them find their forever homes faster. You’re doing an amazing thing by stepping up to help.

Learn more about fostering at EHRDOGS.ORG. We can also connect you with a current foster if you’d like to chat or hear firsthand about the impact fostering has made on their life.

Thank you to everyone who already fosters and helps save lives.
