At G’sGiving Gowns: We listen. 💛
When the incredible Child Life team at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center reached out to us with a specific request, we jumped right into action.
Meet our newest offering: Custom Ostomy Bag Covers! 🧵
Carla, who is one of our newest and youngest volunteers, completely stepped up to lead this project. She poured her heart into designing and sewing these beautiful, comfortable covers specifically for a brave young patient at the hospital. We are so incredibly proud of her talent and dedication.
Every child deserves to feel comfortable, confident, and colorful during their healing journey. When healthcare heroes tell us what their patients need, we alter our offerings to make it happen.
💻 Hospital Partners: We will be adding ostomy bag covers to our official hospital request forms on our website very soon! Keep an eye out so you can easily request them for your patients.
A massive thank you to Carla for her beautiful work, and to the Child Life specialists who inspire us daily!

Receiving this award is a reminder of why I started G’s Giving Gowns at age 11. Watching my cousin Giada navigate her battle with medulloblastoma changed my life forever. It showed me that while doctors treat the illness, we have to care for the child’s spirit. Hospital gowns can feel cold and clinical, but every child deserves to feel like themselves. That’s why I focus on customizing gowns in fun vibrant patterns and making shirts port accessible so that treatment can happen without taking away a child's comfort or dignity. It’s about more than just clothing; it’s about restoring confidence in their toughest moments.
I am so grateful for the support of my community as I continue this mission. To the families in 47 states and 9 countries who have let me be a small part of your journey: thank you for teaching me what true bravery looks like. I look forward to continuing this work and showing that we all have the power to make a difference.
We’re proud to announce the 30th Russ Berrie Making a Difference Award honorees! 🎉
In our 30th and final year, that includes 15 Gen Z Making a Difference Honorees — young leaders who are already making a difference in communities throughout New Jersey.
As the program comes to a close, this group represents the future of making a difference. Their work reflects a new generation stepping forward and building on what came before, while bringing new ideas and energy to the challenges ahead. ⭐
