The Vatican is currently examining a possible miracle attributed to Pope Benedict XVI.

In May 2012, 19-year-old Peter Srsich from Colorado traveled to Rome while suffering from advanced Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The tumor was pressing against his heart, a condition doctors described as extremely dangerous and life-threatening.

During a general audience in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Benedict XVI blessed Peter. Unaware of the exact location of the tumor, the Pope placed his hand precisely over the affected area. Shortly afterward, Peter experienced a complete and medically unexplained recovery.

Nine years later, on May 15, 2021, Peter Srsich was ordained a Catholic priest.

From suffering to healing, from illness to priesthood—this extraordinary story is now being carefully studied by the Church as a possible miracle, reminding us that God still acts powerfully in our time, often in quiet and unexpected ways.
