Giorgetto Giugiaro returned to the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile to take part in a talk on the occasion of the exhibition “Twelve Cars”, a reimagining of the temporary exhibition at Spazio Design which presents car design as an archipelago of shapes.

With him on stage Paolo Martin, Pininfarina Designer, Gian Beppe Panicco, Bertone Head of Communication and Paolo Tumminelli, Spazio Design curator.

The discussion focused primarily on the automotive revolution in Turin during the 1970s, in which Giugiaro was one of the undisputed leading figures. It is no coincidence that the exhibition at the museum features two of Giugiaro’s creations: the Lancia Megagamma - a 1978 concept car designed with comfort and roominess in mind - and the iconic Fiat Panda.

A different perspective radically changes the way a vehicle is perceived, but it also highlights certain specific features that might not be the first to catch the eye: this aerial view of the GFG Kangaroo particularly emphasizes the aerodynamic lines of this Hyper SUV, designed to tackle any type of terrain while still delivering top-tier performance. It also underlines the original interplay of forms between the windshield and the rest of the body, and between the cockpit and the rear air intakes.
