È la riproduzione in scala 1:50 di una casa nobiliare del tardo medioevo genovese, costruita pietra su pietra con materiali edilizi reali o loro surrogati. o da allora, fino ad includere oltre alla casa signorile anche una torre ed edifici minori. Quali sono i tempi di realizzazione del progetto? Non ci sono scadenze. Mano a mano che la costruzione andrà avanti ne racconterò gli sviluppi su questa pagina, sperando ci sia qualcuno interessato a leggerli. È probabile che mi accompagni per il resto dei miei giorni, a meno di calamità naturali o incidenti invalidanti. Perché proprio una domus genovese? Intanto, perché sono genovese. Poi, perché non esiste un solo palazzo in tutta Genova che abbia mantenuto intatto il suo aspetto originale, e molti di questi sono in condizioni pietose. Ho sempre avuto la curiosità di vedere com'erano all'epoca della loro costruzione. Da dove vengono le tue conoscenze di architettura? Ho frequentato il liceo artistico dove ho studiato le basi dell'architettura e del disegno. Lavoro a livello professionale come illustratore e disegnatore di fumetti. Le poche e superficiali conoscenze in costruzione medievale le ho acquisite da internet e su vari libri acquistati per la realizzazione del mio progetto. Non sono un esperto del settore ed è più che probabile che alcuni aspetti del mio lavoro non siano attendibili al 100%. Cerco sempre di documentarmi adeguatamente, e poi s'impara strada facendo...
Posso darti dei consigli o segnalarti errori? Come no, è tuo dovere morale farlo! Se però vuoi solo dirmi che sto facendo un lavoro di m****, magari limitati ad usare gli emoticons. Dove trovi i materiali? Per strada, in campagna, nei fiumi, sulla spiaggia...
Una buona parte proviene dai rifiuti o dal riuso di altri oggetti. Mi stimola particolarmente creare qualcosa di nuovo con materiali di scarto. Il resto (collanti, accessori, strumenti) lo acquisto in negozi di bricolage o ferramenta. Dove si trova la Domus? E' possibile vederla? La Domus e il suo cantiere si trovano a Granada, in Spagna. Un po' lontano dalla città d'origine, ma in fondo anche Colombo venne qui a chiedere le navi per salpare alla volta delle Indie...
L'unico modo per vederla è contattarmi, guadagnarsi la mia fiducia e fare un viaggio in Andalusia con tappa a Granada. Occhio però, in caso restiate delusi non vi è rimborso spese. Ma insomma, perché lo fai? Perché nessuno me lo ha chiesto.

What is "Domus project"? It's the construction in scale 1:50 of a late medieval palace in the style of Genoa (my hometown), built brick by brick using real construction materials or similars. The work tries to reply the real structure in its ex*****on and not only in its appearance. When the construction did begin? I started working on the Domus in 2009. The project is still in development and it changed much since then. Now it includes a tower and some more volumes. What is the project schedule? There is no deadline. As the work progresses I'll show the developments here, hoping someone will be intersted in reading it. Probably it will follow me for the rest of my days, unless natural disasters or disabling accidents. Why just a genoese palace? First of all, because it's my hometown. Then, because no palace in the whole town preserved its original features through the centuries, and many are in very bad conditions. I've always wondered what could be their look at the time of their construction. Where did you learned your architectural skills? I attended an art high school where I studied the fundamentals of architecture and drawings. I currently work as a professional artist in the comic industry. I learned my superficial knowledge about medieval construction on the internet and some books I bought to go ahead with my project. So I'm not a big expert in the field and it's more than possible that some details of my work are not 100% reliable. I'm always looking for documentary evidences, but more things I'll learn on the way...

They proceed largerly from wastes or reuse of other objects. I find especially inspiring to create something new from garbage. I buy the rest (glues, accessories, tools) in DIY or hardware stores
Where is the Domus? Is it possible to see? The construction site is set in Granada, Spain. It's 2000km far from its original town, but in the end, Christophorus Columbus also came here to make real his "american" dream...
The only way to see it (for now) is contacting me, gain my confidence and take a trip to Andalusia. But be careful, if you're disappointed there will be no reimbursement of expenses. But in the end, WHY are you doing it? Because nobody told me to do it.
