For the inauguration of the "Rothko in Florence" exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi, Kaleydo collaborated to design and install the audio systems and lighting design for the opening events of this major project, in one of the most iconic landmarks of Florence's historic centre.

The rigor and care required when working in a Renaissance palace always drives us to seek non-invasive solutions: minimal cabling, attention to detail, and the utmost focus on the safety of the attending audience.

We aimed to create visual continuity between the exhibition spaces and the reception areas for the invitation-only evenings, playing with the architecture of the Palazzo: grand arcaded colonnades, imposing staircases, and open-beam loggias, all enhanced with the right lighting to highlight the spaces and create atmospheres in keeping with the event.

The musical programme featured a series of themed DJ sets and live performances to accompany all the opening evenings, which counted among their protagonists Christopher Rothko — son of the great artist and co-curator of the exhibition alongside Elena Geuna.

⚜️ "Rothko in Florence" is open at Palazzo Strozzi until 23 August 2026, every day from 10:00 to 20:00, and on Thursdays until 23:00.

In occasione dell’inaugurazione della mostra “Rothko a Firenze” a Palazzo Strozzi, Kaleydo ha collaborato per realizzare gli impianti audio e il lighting design degli eventi inaugurali di questo grande progetto, in uno dei luoghi simbolo del centro storico fiorentino.

Il rigore e l’attenzione richiesta nell’operare in un palazzo rinascimentale ci spinge sempre a cercare soluzioni non invasive. Pochi cablaggi, cura dei dettagli e massima attenzione alla sicurezza dell’affluenza del pubblico.

Abbiamo voluto creare una continuità visiva tra gli spazi espositivi e quelli di accoglienza delle serate a invito, giocando con l’architettura del Palazzo: grandi arcate con colonnati, scale imponenti e loggiati con travi a vista vanno valorizzati con le giuste luci per esaltare gli spazi e creare atmosfere in linea con l’evento.

La programmazione musicale ha visto l’alternarsi di DJ set tematici e performance live per accompagnare tutte le serate inaugurali, che hanno visto tra i protagonisti Christopher Rothko, figlio del grande artista e co-curatore della mostra insieme a Elena Geuna.

⚜️ “Rothko a Firenze” è aperta a Palazzo Strozzi fino al 23 agosto 2026, tutti i giorni dalle ore 10.00 alle ore 20.00 e il giovedì fino alle 23.00.
