This method is based on the effect of interaction between a correspondence point and magnetic field. The time of stimulation by magnets is determined individually, depending on the way the patient responds to this kind of treatment. It is not recommended to use magnets at night, and also in patients with high individual sensitivity to magnetic field.
Magnets, used for treatment in nail plates region, have various sizes and shapes. These are round and ring magnets, magnet stars, stick magnets.
Round magnets have the shape of tablets one surface of which is colored white and the other yellow. Magnets are fixed to nails with an adhesive plaster; the white marking above means that the surface of the nail is in contact with the north pole of a magnet and a yellow marking above indicates that the nail is in contact with the South Pole. The north pole of the magnet has the tonifying effect; the effect of the South Pole is sedative.
Thus, in chronic diseases of the ovaries one should adjust a round magnet on the right forth toe nail in such way that the white marking should be above. In this case the tonifying effect is achieved aimed at enhancing energy volume in the weakened ovaries with insufficient functional activity.
In order to increase the function of the thyroid white top magnet is adjusted to the left second finger nail, and for sedation of energy in the lungs required in acute bronchitis, a magnet is fixed on the 2nd right toe nail in such a way that the yellow marking is on top.
Ring magnets consist of two parts- the central and peripheral ones – that are mark differently. When using a ring magnet, it is important to keep in mind that it is the central part that determines the overall action of the magnet in general. Thus, a magnet with the white part in the center has a tonifying effect, with the yellow part- sedating effect.

For instance, in order to sedate energy in the bladder in case of its excess cystitis, on the right fourth finger – nail a ring magnet is adjusted with the yellow central part and white peripheral part and to tonify energy In the pancreas in diabetes mellitus a ring magnet with the central white part and yellow peripheral part should be fixed on the fifth toe-nail.
The principle of action of magnet stars is the same as in round magnets with the only difference that due to their shape, magnet stars also produce mechanical action. They are placed on sensitive points around the nail.
In stick magnets, magnetic field lines are directed from the white [north] end to the yellow [south] one. For application of stick magnets it is possible to use one of the three parallel lines of a nail, one of which passes in the centre, and two others along the lateral borders of a nail. The left line is connected with the expanding Hetero energy, the right one- with the compressing Homo energy. Direction of energy flows along these lines corresponds to the nail growth direction.
If the direction of a stick magnet’s field vector coincides with the energy direction in one of these lines, the volume of related energy increases. Thus for example acute hepatitis is pronounced Hetero condition. So it is characterized by marked symptoms, high temperature and hepatitis distension. If a stick magnet is adjusted on the right energy line of the left fifth toe – nail, the contracting Homo tendencies will start increasing in the liver which will contribute to harmonizing its state. When it is difficult to evaluate precisely whether Homo or Hetero processes are going on in an organ, the most optimal approach will be to strengthen the central energy line in order to neutralize any noxious destabilizing influences.

In all cases of utilizing magnets, the application diagnosis should be a preliminary stage. Within twenty minutes following a magnet application the patient should be under observation to determine any changes in his or her state. Improvement of the state during this period would point to the proper placement of the magnet. If the state gets worse, the magnet’s poles should be located reversely. Absence of any changes indicates that another nail should be selected for Magneto Therapy.
The duration of magnet application depends on the patient’s individual reaction and may vary from several minutes to several hours. It should be borne in mind that a magnet should be removed when improvement reaches its peak, or if the state gets worse, it is required to remove a magnet for the night, since the patient cannot control his or her state during sleep. The number of manipulations is not limited and is determined by the patient’s sensations alone.
