In Maharashtra, first day of the bright phase of the moon is called Gudi Padwa in Marathi. It is the New Year for Maharashtrians. Gudi means flag that’s garlanded with flowers, mango and neem leaves with an upturned silver or copper vessel. Padwa is derived from Sanskrit word pratipad for the first day for each fortnight in a lunar month. In the Telegu community, it is known as Ugadhi. In the Sindhi community its Cheti Chand. In Karnataka it is called Yugadi.
At Tradebytes, we wish you a very happy Gudi Padwa and pray for good health and prosperity of your family.
