I spent two beautiful weeks at Holy Cow Café And Beds, Kalga amidst occasional thunderstorms and rising snow caps all around.
Swimming in impossibly chill vibs
Daily quota of hours huddled inside layers of blankets
Hill-walks with the most charming Anand Tiwari
Hilarious conversations with Chacha, our cook and closeted stand-up comic
Playing with Pupster, the horrendously injured but strangely over-excited puppy who adopted me within 5 mins of meeting
Nights of enlightening silence
And then a slowly creeping sense of calm and quiet home-coming.
How it broke my heart to leave.
Somewhere between all this, I also painted this wall.
This image came from a visualization exercise I was introduced to in Auroville, meant to ground oneself and realise the continuous flow of energies between us and Mother Earth.
More pictures and stories about it coming soon!
So the first mural gets completed and now looking forward to many more. A big hug and thank you to Ain Contractor for this lovely peace of art. It was a beautiful experience seeing this come into form and now we can't wait more for other artists to come and do their magic.
Come, experience this and much more.

Step by step images of how I made a lamp shade for my sister this January.
Materials: a used carton, pencils, fevibond.
My sister wished there was a cabaret dancer inside the cage, so if any of ya'll wanna make a sculpture and send it over, please do!

Meet Lucy: She's chilling in the Matheran rains on a plinth wall at Nehru Bhavan.
Wall painting done as a part of Matheran Green Festival, May 2015.
The yellow-white outline was done in distemper and the blue line rendering done in oil paints. Special care was taken to not disturb the beautiful moss growing on the beautiful laterite wall more than necessary. Lucy intends to shine her light without over-shadowing the aesthetic of her home.
These pictures were taken when I went back to visit once the monsoons hit and was glad to see that Lucy has endured the downpour!

These shoes were made with much care for the tiny feet of Sudeep Choudhari's daughter, Ishna. They were particularly challenging since each of them fit perfectly on my abnormally small hand.
Sudeep asked me to photograph the making of this shoe since he wanted Ishna to appreciate the art and its processes. Most of these images I have unfortunately misplaced since the death of phone by being thrown into a lake in Nepal.
The few that I have, have been uploaded here. I apologise for the blurred images.
I am happy to share that Ishna loved this pair!
