Today, we celebrate the birthday of F.W. Champion, a pioneering naturalist whose dedication to wildlife conservation in India continues to inspire generations. His work laid the foundation for preserving forests and protecting countless species in the wild.
Champion was not only admired globally but also deeply respected by local communities, who remember his kindness, knowledge, and efforts to protect nature. At Harela Community Shop in Ringora village, near Corbett Tiger Reserve, we honor his legacy by empowering local women to create handmade products sustainably, supporting both nature and community.
On this special day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the beauty around us and the efforts to protect it. Which local species or natural space inspires you the most? Share with us in the comments!
