*SAMBA POLICE CONDUCTS LONG RANGE PATROLLING AND MOCK DRILL IN VIEW OF FORTHCOMING SHRI AMARNATH JI YATRA-2026*

Samba: June 24, 2026: As part of the elaborate security arrangements being put in place for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)–2026, Samba Police in coordination with CAPFs, today conducted a comprehensive Long Range Patrolling (LRP) exercise along National Highway-44 and organized a mock drill simulating a terrorist attack scenario at the Nonath Lodgement Centre established for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims.

The Long Range Patrolling exercise commenced from Samba Chowk and culminated at Nonath, Ghagwal, covering a significant stretch of the National Highway which serves as a vital route for the annual pilgrimage. The exercise was aimed at area domination, strengthening security preparedness, maintaining a visible security presence and ensuring heightened vigilance along the Yatra route.

The patrolling was led by the Addl. SP Samba alongwith DySP SOG Samba and SHO PS Ghagwal. The officers and officials of CISF, SSB and CRPF also actively participated in the exercise.

During the patrol, the security teams carried out thorough inspections of strategic locations, vulnerable points, lateral points and other critical areas along the National Highway. The exercise also provided an opportunity for officers and personnel of Samba Police and CAPFs to familiarize themselves with each other's operational procedures, thereby enhancing coordination and synergy among the participating forces ahead of SANJY–2026.

In another significant preparedness measure, Samba Police conducted a mock drill at the Lodgement Centre, Nonath, Ghagwal based on a simulated terrorist attack-like situation. The drill was designed to evaluate the operational readiness, response mechanisms, coordination and crisis-management capabilities of police personnel and allied security agencies in dealing with any emergency or contingency during the Yatra period.

Speaking on the ocassion, SSP Samba stated that Samba Police remains fully committed to ensuring foolproof security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. He reiterated that regular patrolling and mock drills are being conducted to maintain a high level of preparedness and to provide a safe and secure environment for pilgrims and the general public.

Doda Police Continues War Against Drugs; Drug Peddler Arrested with Approx. 07 Grams of He**in-like Substance at Shiv Gufa Temple, Baggar, Assar

Continuing its intensified campaign against drug trafficking under the ongoing 100 Days Anti-Drug Drive and Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Doda Police achieved another success by arresting a drug peddler under the jurisdiction of Police Station Assar.

A police team of Police Station Assar, led by SHO Police Station Assar, while conducting naka checking near Shiv Gufa Temple, Baggar, apprehended one person identified as *Tousif Malik S/o Mohd Ashraf R/o Sarna, Bhaderwah*.

During his personal search, *approximately 07 grams of heroin-like substance* was recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, FIR No. 18/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Assar and further investigation is underway to ascertain the forward and backward linkages of the drug network.

Doda Police reiterates its commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the general public to actively cooperate by sharing information regarding such illegal activities so that a safe, healthy and drug-free society can be ensured.

*Jammu Police in Miran Sahib Apprehends Two Drug Peddlers with 17 Grams of He**in under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan*

Jammu, June 23, 2026:

Continuing its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Jammu Police achieved another significant success by apprehending two drug peddlers and recovering heroin-like narcotic substance from their possession within the jurisdiction of Police Station Miran Sahib.

A police party of Police Station Miran Sahib, while conducting naka checking and patrolling in its jurisdiction, intercepted two suspicious persons identified as:

1. Sahil Singh, S/o Thakur Singh, R/o Kotli Mian Fateh, Jammu.
2. Kuldeep Kumar, S/o Rash Paul, R/o Dak Bungalow, District Jammu.

On noticing the police party, both individuals attempted to flee from the spot but were tactfully apprehended by the alert police personnel.

During their personal search, approximately 17 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance (Chitta) was recovered from their possession.

In this regard, FIR No. 91/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib, and further investigation is underway.

Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to combating drug trafficking and appeals to the general public to cooperate with the police by sharing information regarding drug-related activities in their areas, thereby contributing towards the vision of a drug-free society.
