Women and Society

Women play a significant role in shaping society. Not just today, but across generations. Their contribution goes beyond economics — it is deeply rooted in culture.
This influence is often not loud or visible at scale. It operates at the micro level — within families, relationships, and daily life. Through this, they shape values, behavior, and the sense of contentment within the spaces they influence.
How a woman sees her family, her aspirations, and her environment can quietly shift the direction of that entire circle. When there is balance and contentment, it reflects outward.

I have seen both sides of this.

This image was taken in Ho Chi Minh City on the final day of my trip. Walking alone that morning, I came across this group of women — dressed alike, gathered for a photograph in front of a leader who shaped their nation. Their presence, their alignment, and their shared identity felt intentional.
Influence like this may seem small in the moment, but it accumulates.

Back home in India, I often feel that if women collectively lead something like the Clean India movement at a household level, it can create a meaningful shift. Change at the micro level builds into change at scale.

I guess the timing is right. The people mandate for a new party in Tamil Nadu largely through woman voter consolidation too. So they can create history.

Connection.
At Punakha Dzong, I met this young monk sitting by an entrance, playful and completely at ease. He noticed the camera, smiled, and began to pose — a simple, natural interaction.
Through the carved Bhutanese railing, I captured these moments. But what stayed with me wasn’t just the frame — it was the connection.
A smile, a brief engagement — it changes everything.
It opens people up. It makes moments real.
In a time where we’re often absorbed in our screens,
these small human connections feel more important than ever.
