The Prado museum is home of the masterpieces by famous Spanish artists such as Goya, Velazquez, etc.

The heart of the old Madrid is Plaza mayor and nearby, there is Royal Palace of Madrid.
The Puerta del Sol is a public square and it is the busiest place in the city.
El Retiro park served as retreat for Spanish monarchy till 19th century. However, today it is a public park and enjoyed by everyone.
