‘The Sun Rises in the East’
Notes written by Ronny Sen during visits to an abandoned airfield in Bengal, winter 2045.
"The next day I stood near a watchtower. The dog ran up and down the stairs quickly. The structure was once used to monitor incoming aircraft. Now it looks out over trees and abandoned concrete. Someone has given the dog a name. They call it Boro Babu. In Bengal it refers to the officer in charge of a police station. It carries a faint tone of authority. People smile when they say it, though it is not entirely clear why."
‘The Sun Rises in the East’ is on view at TARQ until 18 April 2026.
