Tucked away in the backwaters of Kochi is a small palace – Chittoor Kottaram – of the erstwhile king of Kochi. The Rajah came here frequently to pray and be by himself.
The Hotel palace has just 2 Rooms – and allows you to indulge yourself as the former Royalty of Kerala did. Built in the colonial style of architecture – this hotel has simple elegance as its trademark. Set besides the backwaters – amidst tall coconut palms – makes it the perfect backdrop for a holiday to escape from it all. The Rajah would come on a boat pulled by 18 oarsmen . 200 guards travelled to the palace with the king to protect him. Today the Hotel keeps the tradition of service intact. They organise sunset cruises – dance and music recitals on its lawns. You can also indulge yourself with the famed Ayurveda oil massages.
