Why we offaring butterfly pea to lord Siva ?

Giving Lord Shiva a butterfly pea flower represents purity and devotion in Hinduism. This flower has a sky blue hue. According to believers, gifting this flower to Lord Shiva during prayers or celebrations makes him happy and symbolises letting up of one's ego and desires. You can pray to the Supreme Being by offering a butterfly pea blossom in exchange for blessings, security, and spiritual advancement. The butterfly pea flower is frequently referred to in Hinduism as "Nilkantha" because of its bright blue hue, which is symbolic of Lord Shiva's throat. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva prevented the end of the world by consuming the poison (halahala) that erupted during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan). This poison caused his throat to turn blue, giving him the moniker "Nilkantha," which means "blue-throated."

Do you know why we worship Lord Vishnu on Thursday ?
According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Vishnu is considered the deity who governs Jupiter (Brihaspati), the largest planet in the solar system. Jupiter is associated with wisdom, knowledge, prosperity, and benevolence. Therefore, Thursday is believed to be an auspicious day to seek blessings related to these aspects of life.

Worshipping Lord Vishnu on Thursdays is believed to bring forth his divine grace, promoting spiritual growth, intellectual development, and material well-being. Devotees often perform rituals, prayers, and offer flowers, fruits, and sweets to Lord Vishnu's idols or images. Reading or reciting verses from sacred texts like the Vishnu Sahasranama (thousand names of Lord Vishnu) is also a common practice on this day.

Furthermore, mythology recounts that Lord Vishnu incarnated as various divine forms to restore cosmic balance and protect righteousness. One of his most famous avatars, Lord Rama, is particularly venerated on Thursdays. Observing fasts, engaging in charity, and engaging in selfless acts are also customary on this day to honor Lord Vishnu's qualities and principles.

In essence, Thursday is revered as a day to connect with Lord Vishnu's divine energies, seek his guidance, and foster attributes that lead to a harmonious and prosperous life.
