Nation says that the world is presently running through immense advancement. But are we really in a state to be called `civilized’? The scenario changes absolutely when we go through the news in television and newspaper. Millions of human beings are suffering from intense poverty at present; most of them are striving through physical, psychological, mental and social violence. We indeed have many
such examples around us. There came a time when some of us, a group of college and university-passed students felt an urge within to stand beside these people and do something for them. Then onwards our journey began. During summer vacations, winter vacations, any holidays-whenever we could manage a little time, we used to set of for remote villages, examine people’s state of living, explore their social, physical and mental conditions which for most of the time was found to be deplorable. People were found to be in extremely poor economic condition, women and children being physically and mentally exploited. We thought of doing something for them. We started acquiring our pocket money and began to conduct free eye camps, heart camps, SHG determination camps, etc.under the supervision of medical expertees like Dr. Devi Sethi, Shankar Netralaya and many others. Renowned corporate houses stood with us during these camps for free distribution of medicines, packaged potions, etc. In winter season we try to provide people with quilts and clothes. We didn’t have enough financial support to carry on with our activities but we could at least channelize these people through the right track to the right person to obtain appropriate legal advice. On our way we have been profoundly supported by renowned doctors, lawyers, educationists, activists etc. to proceed on our way. Since last four years we have been in an effort to engage ourselves in welfare activities towards the needy. Valuable advice and voluntary support of these eminent lawyers, educationists, activists, police personnel’s, political leaders, MPs and our consultants, who have been working in this field for 20-22 years, have been helping us since the beginning. They advised us that instead of proceeding haphazzatly, we should better be quite systematic towards our mission. We fortunately got to register our organization and enlist it as an NGO-PARASH PATHAR. Presently we have focused our target over women and child trafficking and HIV/AIDS, with child labour, human exploitation, handicapped and Thalassaemia as parts. Trafficking not only deals with child and woman but any sort of work being made to be done by force can be termed as trafficking. None among us can deny that he/she has not been trafficked even once in his/her lifetime. From this social responsibility we felt that we need to work with it. We are aiming at flourishing our advocacy network over whole of India and abroad in future, which is now confined within few states of India like West Bengal, Bihar Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh, so that many youths like us come forward to eradicate these social intrigue problems which can only be possible through spread of awareness. We know that prevention is better than cure and for this, awareness is the best policy.
