Project: HIS Cyclone relief work

The coastal areas of West Bengal is badly hit by yet another cyclone Yaas today on 26th May 2021. Severe damages have been caused in the coastal areas of Sunderbans, Purba Medinipur districts.

Like last year our Humans In Solidarity (HIS) team have been in touch with the localites of Raidighi and Mousuni islands to receive heart breaking images from these places where houses have destroyed due to torrential rainfall and people are struggling for their survival. Amidst the ongoing pandemic, the havoc caused by the cyclone yaas has left these people in a hand to mouth situation. We are humbly reaching out to you expecting you to extend your support to stand by the people in this period of crisis.

We will be providing immediate relief support with dry ration and baby food items in the affected villages in Raidighi and Mousuni islands. We are also supporting community kitchen at Raidighi.

We will share our on-ground experience on our page.

Our team will be reaching Gosaba and Basanti with its last phase of ration support this Sunday.

Ration kits for 760 families and 163 Tarpaulin sheets need to be procured for 3 villages of Gosaba and Basanti...

Afterward, we will be continuing with reconstruction and reformation works in the villages.

Hopefully all of you by now, are aware of how Kolkata's college street, our very own Boi Para has been hard hit both by this tenuous lockdown which stretched over two and a half months and the supercyclone that ravaged the state last month, Amphan.

In this scenario Boipara Bachao Mancha, Quarantined Students Youth Network/Stand With College Street, Samantaral Bhavna have come forward to be in support with many small, budding, marginal businessmen and publishers, workers, van-drivers, hawkers, small businessmen associated with the production of block and rubber stamps etc, who are the worst hit of the lockdown and Amphan...

Yesterday they took the streets to reach out to 100 such families with Dry ration and basic medicines.. We, Humans In Solidarity contributed to the initiative with 100 Sanitary Napkins for the families.
