Rural aspirations in motion—one eco-friendly mile at a time

A fleet of E-Rickshaws was successfully flagged off in Pasighat under the Innovative & Economic Development / Income Enhancement Project (Gram Bandhu) of the Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) facilitated by Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission, covering Gram Panchayats of Pasighat, Mebo, Ruksin, and Bilat, showcasing strong convergence with the Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

The programme was flagged off by shri Ojing Tasing the Hon’ble Minister RD & PR, Cooperation and Transport, in the presence of Advisor HPD Shri Ninong Ering, Hon’ble MLAs Er. Tapi Darang and Shri Oken Tayeng, Director Panchayati Raj Shri Tajing Jonnom, Deputy Commissioner East Siang Smti Sonalika Jiwani, Superintendent of Police Shri Pankaj Lamba, ZPC East Siang Smti Ruth Tabing Boko, DPDO Ms. Pebika Lego, along with PRI leaders, departmental officials, and SHG members.

This initiative is a significant step toward strengthening rural livelihoods by empowering SHGs with eco-friendly transport solutions, enabling efficient marketing of organic and indigenous products, and promoting sustainable development across East Siang district.

"Today, ArSRLM held a review meeting on DAY-NRLM and DDU-GKY, chaired by Dr. Sonal Swaroop, IAS, Secretary RDPR, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, at the ArSRLM SMMU Conference Hall, Itanagar. Teams presented on IBCB, MCLF, Livelihoods (Farm & Non-Farm), SISD, FI, HR, MEMIS, DDU-GKY, and FM.

The Secretary appreciated the efforts of all teams and encouraged continued focus on strengthening implementation and convergence for better outcomes in rural areas. The CEO-cum-SMD thanked the teams for their work and stressed the importance of community institutions and ongoing capacity building.
