Eight years of Kekru — stitched from voices, images and the courage to share.
What began as a small gathering has grown into a living space for poems, songs, drawings and the conversations that carry them.

At Kekru Sessions 26 'Komix', we turned another page in this journey with the launch of Eigi Yum Leite by Thawan & Mutum Kaniska — a meeting place of poetry and illustration, where language and line speak to each other, and the page becomes a room you can step inside.

The launch was a spark — the conversations, its lasting glow. Gratitude to Dr. R.K. Joykumar Singh Sapha Yumnam and Rahul Laishram for opening new windows into graphic poetry, comics, art and typography.

To everyone who’s been part of these 8 years — whether you’ve shared your work, sat in the audience, or carried our words home — thank you. You are the reason the fire is still burning. We’ll keep passing the light, together. 🔥

“Eigi Yum Leite” — a graphic poetry collaboration by Thawan and Mutum Kaniska — is releasing on 9th August 2025 under Kekru Publications.

This book is a quiet explosion — where poetry collides with visual art, where home (yum) is both refuge and question. Fragmented, raw, intimate — Eigi Yum Leite traces memory, displacement, resistance and belonging through the interplay of text and image.

To mark this launch, we’re also opening a comic art exhibition by Mutum Kaniska, running till 11th August 2025 — a visual world that stretches beyond panels, sharp with satire, tenderness and rebellion.

All of this unfolds within Kekru 26: KOMIX, as we celebrate 8 years of Kekru — a collective space of poetry and the amalgamation of all art-forms. Please join us for the conversation, exhibition and interaction — this isn’t just a launch; it’s a gathering of voices.
