A boy from Trichy is proving that real strength isn’t about movement - it’s about mindset.
R. Ashwin, a Class 12 student living with paraplegia, just won the National Under-19 Chess Championship for the Physically Disabled - and he’s now set to represent India at the World IPCA Championship in Goa.
He didn’t let limitations define him. He trained. He competed. He rose.
This isn’t just a win for Ashwin.
It’s a message for every parent:
Your child’s greatest power may already be on the board - waiting to be unlocked.
At Easy Chess Academy, we believe chess doesn’t just build players - it builds courage, focus, and resilience.
Let’s raise the next generation of fearless minds.

Tamil Nadu parents just discovered they've been doing chess backwards.
Everyone thinks chess success starts with talent.
Turns out, it starts with a mistake.
This weekend, while 4 Indian women dominated the World Cup semifinals, every chess academy in India got flooded with the same question: "How do I get my kid to play like that?"
Wrong question.
The real question is: "Why are 90% of chess kids quitting within 2 years?"
Because here's what no one talks about...
Most parents start chess completely backwards. They focus on winning games instead of building brains.
Tamil Nadu figured out the secret by accident. We stopped trying to create chess players and started creating pattern-recognition machines.
The difference?
Chess players memorize moves.
Pattern-recognition machines see solutions.
Guess which one reaches World Cup semifinals?
The crazy part? Your 6-year-old's brain is BETTER at pattern recognition than a 16-year-old's. But only if you catch them at the right time.
Most parents miss the window because they're focused on tournaments instead of brain development.
Tamil Nadu has 31 Grandmasters not because our kids are smarter. Because we accidentally discovered the right sequence.
First: Pattern recognition
Then: Problem solving
Last: Competition
Everyone else does it backwards.

$200,000 in 5 days. Levon Aronian just did the impossible.
The 42-year-old Armenian-American stunned the chess world by winning the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Las Vegas yesterday, taking home the biggest prize in recent chess history.
His path to victory? Pure drama:
→ Beat Magnus Carlsen (World #1) in tiebreaks
→ Eliminated Hikaru Nakamura (World #2) in semifinals
→ Defeated Hans Niemann 1.5-0.5 in the $200,000 final
The most impressive part? Aronian was the oldest player in the tournament, proving that experience and skill trump everything else.
India represented strong: Praggnanandhaa reached the final 8, showing our young talents can compete with anyone. Arjun Erigaisi made semifinals before falling to Aronian.
From Wynn Las Vegas to worldwide recognition - chess prize money just hit a new level. This is what the future of competitive chess looks like.
Next up: Esports World Cup starts July 29 with $1.5 million prize pool.
