आज जन्मदिन पर शत्-शत् नमन 🙏
वीर सपूत गबर सिंह नेगी का जन्म 21 अप्रैल 1895 को उत्तराखंड के टिहरी ज़िले के मज्यूड़ गाँव में हुआ था। बचपन से ही देशसेवा का जज़्बा लिए वे 1913 में गढ़वाल राइफल्स में भर्ती हुए।
प्रथम विश्व युद्ध के दौरान 10 मार्च 1915 को फ्रांस के न्यूवे चैपल में उन्होंने अदम्य साहस और वीरता का परिचय देते हुए मात्र 20 वर्ष की आयु में मातृभूमि के लिए सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया।
उनके इसी शौर्य के लिए उन्हें मरणोपरांत ब्रिटिश साम्राज्य का सर्वोच्च वीरता पुरस्कार विक्टोरिया क्रॉस प्रदान किया गया।
हर वर्ष उनके जन्मदिवस पर चंबा स्थित उनके स्मारक पर गढ़वाल राइफल्स द्वारा श्रद्धांजलि दी जाती है और “गबर सिंह नेगी मेला” उनके बलिदान की गाथा को जीवित रखता है। वर्ष 2024 में चंबा, उत्तराखंड में उनके स्मारक पर नमन करने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ।

The samadhi (memorial) of Tatya Tope is located in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh.
After being captured by the British during the aftermath of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, Tatya Tope was executed on 18 April 1859 in Shivpuri.
The place where he was hanged is now marked by his samadhi, which stands as a tribute to his bravery and sacrifice.
I strongly feel that the samadhi of Tatya Tope should be preserved and maintained with greater care and dignity, so that future generations can remember and draw inspiration from his unparalleled sacrifice
