Traditionally associated with the harvesting of sugarcane and rabi crops, Lohri is a time to express gratitude to nature for a bountiful harvest. The festival is characterized by communal gatherings around a bonfire, where people offer rewri, peanuts, and sesame seeds to the flames as a mark of respect to the Sun God and the elements of nature.
