Even though my surname is Karnatac, I am actually not from Karnataka (though I wish I was, it is hands down my favourite state). I was born and bought up eating momos in Delhi. And now I am in the land of vada pao, Mumbai.

Aapke state me kya unique hai?🤩 Imagine a place where coconuts aren't just food, but superstars of creativity. When I was in Kerala, I saw people use coconut leaves as tongue cleaners, make brooms, and get this - even create rockets and beautiful wall hangings! Every single part of the coconut has a job. The outer shell? That becomes chairs and ropes. The tree gives us water, oil, and endless surprises.
Which festivals do you celebrate? Share in the comments! Muslims celebrate three different Eids throughout the year: Sweet Eid (Eid al-Fitr) follows Ramadan, where we enjoy delicious desserts like sheer khurma, kheer, and phirni. The night before (Chand Raat) is filled with shopping and celebrations! Bakra Eid (Eid al-Adha) involves the tradition of sacrifice, where meat is distributed among family, relatives, and those in need. People dress in new clothes and host festive gatherings. Eid-e-Milad celebrates the Prophet Muhammad's birthday with large gatherings where stories about his life are shared, honoring his legacy.

Aap kisse maante ho? Prasad isn’t always vegetarian 😮 In Jharkhand’s Rajrappa Temple, mutton is offered as prasad. In Hyderabad, people take live fish prasad in hopes of curing asthma. In Tamil Nadu, the Muniyandi Swami Temple serves mutton biryani for 3 days a year. In Assam’s Kamakhya Temple, goat meat is shared as prasad. And then there are truly unique offerings, like chowmein and momos at Kolkata’s Chinese Kali Temple, and Munch chocolates at Kerala’s Chemmoth Sree Subramaniya Swami Temple.
