What does it really take to send humans into space and bring them safely back to Earth?

On 15th May 2026, at the American Center New Delhi, students explored the incredible world of human spaceflight through an immersive masterclass on “Gaganyaan: India’s First Human Spaceflight Mission”, organized by SPACE India in collaboration with the American Center New Delhi.

From surviving the harsh realities of space to understanding rockets, astronauts, Vyommitra, splashdown missions, and India’s future lunar ambitions, students experienced the science, courage, and innovation driving India’s human spaceflight journey.

Because maybe, just maybe, the Indian who walks on the Moon in 2040 was sitting in that very room today.

SPACE India conducted an exciting Astronomy Showcase on 20th April 2026 at Apeejay School, Pitampura, creating a vibrant platform for students to explore the wonders of astronomy and space science through immersive, hands-on learning experiences. 🚀🔭

The showcase featured engaging demonstrations and interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and scientific thinking among young learners.

Students created their own comets, safely observed the Sun using specialized solar filters, and explored the fascinating science of light through spectroscopes. ☀️🌠

These experiential activities helped students connect scientific concepts with real-world observations, making learning both exciting and memorable.

The enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation displayed throughout the event reflected a growing passion for science, innovation, and space exploration.

The Astronomy Showcase served as a meaningful step toward nurturing the next generation of explorers, innovators, and future scientists by encouraging students to look beyond textbooks and discover the universe through observation and experimentation. ✨

“Gaganyaan: India’s First Human Spaceflight Mission”

This immersive session will take participants through the extraordinary science, engineering, and human challenges behind India’s first crewed space mission. From surviving the harsh environment of space and living aboard an orbital spacecraft, to understanding splashdown recovery operations in the Bay of Bengal, students will explore every stage of the Gaganyaan journey.
