Alright, here we go, all in!
Today, a new chapter officially begins.
Once you reach FI, your relationship with money completely changes. You stop playing defense. You stop worrying about survival. You start looking for a new mission, one driven by impact, not necessity.
Over the last few years, as I transitioned from the Army to Corporate, and eventually now to managing my own portfolio full-time, I realized something broken about the wealth industry:
Most people are treating their hard earned money like a casino.
> They are sold bloated 30-stock portfolios.
> They bleed alpha through hidden taxes and FX spreads.
> They lack a mechanical framework for real wealth creation.
I decided to build the exact institution I wish I had when I started.
Today, on the first day of the new financial year 2026-27, I am incredibly proud to announce the launch of Captain's portfolio, a boutique investment firm built on the mechanics of discipline, risk management, and ruthless ex*****on.
Portfolio is live (Link in comment), all deployed as of 31st March 2026. It is a mix of some “10x in 10 years bets”, compounders, and turnarounds. I have no benchmarks to beat, no customers to answer to, so this is just an attempt to hold some accountability by building in public. I will keep sharing quarterly updates.
I am in it for the love of the Game!

1999: The Fog and the Woolens
I remember being woken up while it was still pitch black outside.
The routine was sacred: three layers of sweaters, a scratchy woollen cap pulled over my ears, and a steaming mug of Bournvita held between frozen palms.
We would huddle under a heavy razai (quilt) in front of the bulky box TV. There was no "rewind" or "on-demand." If you missed the start of the daredevil bikers or the flypast, it was gone until next year.
• The Scent: Cold air mixed with the smell of buttered toast.
• The Sound: The rhythmic thump-thump of boots on Rajpath and the legendary, steady commentary that narrated every float (jhanki) with such gravity.
• The Highlight: Waiting for the rose petals to shower from the helicopters, wondering if, just once, a petal might somehow fall through the screen and into our living room.
Cut to 2026: A Different View, Same Pride
Today, the world looks different. The box TV is now a slim 4K screen. The "Rajpath" I knew has been transformed into the Kartavya Path. I’m the one waking up early now, not because my parents told me to, but because the habit is etched into my DNA.
While I might be scrolling through live updates on my phone or catching the highlights on YouTube, that childhood spark remains. Watching the diverse colors of the states roll by still feels like a geography lesson wrapped in a celebration.
The cold is still there, but now it’s seasoned with nostalgia. It’s a reminder that no matter how much we grow up or how much the city changes, that 90-minute window on January 26th will always be a bridge back to being that kid in the oversized sweater, looking at the world with wide-eyed wonder.
Happy Republic Day🇮🇳
