On 7th July 2026, the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) for CMAAA 2.0 beneficiaries of Chirang district was inaugurated by Hon'ble MCLA, BTC Shri Sukursing Narzary in the presence of District Commissioner Shri Gakul Chandra Brahma, ACS, at U.N. Brahma Senior Secondary School, Kajalgaon.
The programme aims to build entrepreneurial and business management skills among beneficiaries. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries encouraged participants to utilize the training effectively for sustainable self-employment. A total of 1,091 beneficiaries will be trained under the programme in Chirang district.

Ahead of the upcoming APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Preliminary Examination, 2025, a visit was carried out today by Shri Gakul Chandra Brahma, ACS, District Commissioner, Chirang, to review the preparedness at UN Brahma Senior Secondary School, the designated examination centre in the district.
He was accompanied by Smt. Kabita Deka, ACS, ADC cm Nodal Officer ,CCE(P) examination 2025, Chirang, Nilotpol Bhuyan, ACS Assistant Commissioner and other concerned officers. During the visit the arrangement related to security, seating, logistics and other essential facilities were reviewed to ensure smooth, fair and hassle free conduct of the examination.

An awareness meeting on Census 2027 was held today at the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Commissioner, Chirang, under the chairmanship of Shri Gakul Chandra Brahma, ACS, District Commissioner, Chirang.

Addressing the gathering, the District Commissioner highlighted the importance of Census 2027 as a key national exercise that provides reliable demographic, social, and economic data for effective planning and policy formulation. He urged all stakeholders to extend full cooperation and actively create public awareness to ensure the successful conduct of the census.

The meeting focused on the objectives of Census 2027, the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, and the importance of complete coverage, accurate data collection, and timely ex*****on of all census-related activities. Discussions were also held on strengthening inter-departmental coordination, public outreach, and community participation for the smooth implementation of the census across the district.

The meeting was attended by the Additional District Commissioners (ADCs), Circle Officers, Assistant Commissioners, Block Development Officers (BDOs), Executive Officers of Municipal Boards, Ward Commissioners, Chairmen of all Village Council Development Committees (VCDCs), and representatives of the District Press Club, Chirang.

On 30 June 2026, Shri Gakul Chandra Brahma, ACS, District Commissioner, Chirang, ceremonially distributed "Chopa Cop" booklets to students of Classes I to V at Kajalgaon High School. The initiative aims to promote road safety awareness among young students and encourage them to observe and assess whether their parents, guardians, and drivers adhere to traffic rules.

The programme was organised by the District Administration, Chirang, in collaboration with the Inspector of Schools and the District Transport Office (DTO), Chirang. The event was attended by the Additional District Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Inspector of Schools, District Transport Officer, teachers, students, and other officials.

Today, on 30.06.2026, Shri Gakul Chandra Brahma, ACS, District Commissioner, Chirang visited relief camp at Shishubari LP School under Bijni Revenue Circle of Chirang district and interacted with the camp inmates on relief measures and flood related issue. Shri Arijit Mahajan, IAS, ADC i/c.SDO (C), Bijni, Assistant Commissioner and Circle Officer, Bijni were also present during his visit.
