The “Statement of Objects and Reasons” in this Bill is the ultimate betrayal. It claims that the law was “never intended” to protect anyone who chooses to live authentically. As a self-perceived transgender woman, seeing the phrase “no choice of their own” used as a condition for protection makes me wonder why we are hated this much.

The government suggests that because our identity is “self-perceived,” our struggle is somehow optional. They clearly don’t see the reality. I didn’t “choose” to fear for my life every time I step out of a safe space. I didn’t “choose” to leave my hometown or leave behind everyone I’ve ever known just to exist. Wanting to live authentically isn’t a “fault” or a “mistake” it is a human necessity.

This Bill isn’t just about administrative changes. It is a well-crafted document of deep-rooted hate. By claiming we were “never meant to be protected,” the state is attempting to “un-person” us. This feels like a strategic move to weaken our Constitution and mirror the wave of erasure we see happening globally.

To be clear, traditional socio-cultural identities deserve every bit of protection and care they can get. But rights are not a zero-sum game. Giving them to one group doesn’t require snatching them from another. We have all been marginalized and we have all been resilient. To pit us against each other by “ranking” our trauma is cruel.

There is no “lack of knowledge” here. Those who frame the laws of our land are not ignorant they are intentional. If the people in power are using tax rupees to draft transphobic scripts that target an already suppressed community, the system is rotten to its core and whoever drafted this bill deserves a generous jail time. You cannot delete a community by omitting a sentence from a law. We exist, we have always existed, and no amount of “legislative policy” can change the truth of who we are.

Leadership in Every Dimension
Inclusion doesn’t have a “fixed location.”
We recently gathered leaders for a high-energy, hybrid sensitization workshop conducted by PeriFerry. Whether our managers were in the room or joining us on screen, the goal remained the same: to lead with empathy and build a culture where everyone belongs.
Why this matters:
* Sensitization starts from the top.
* Allyship requires active learning.
* Inclusion is a journey, not a destination.
