Can you hold your breath for 3 hours? ⏱️🌬️

Probably not. But that’s how long we ask our lungs and the Taj Mahal to endure toxic carbon emissions EVERY SINGLE DAY.

It’s World Health Day 2026, and we’re doing more than just “going green.” We’re standing with science to reclaim our air. Our Taj City Rickshaws, piloted by the incredible women of Agra, are estimated to cut 15,160 tons of carbon every year.

Together for Health.
Stand with Science.
Choose to Breathe. đź’š

This Eid, 25 women in Agra stepped into entrepreneurship with Taj City Rickshaws, an initiative by in partnership with , an electric tourism initiative driving change and independence. 🌍💚

The event began with a warm welcome, followed by Vipin Sir sharing the vision rooted in a triple-bottom-line approach—empowering women, creating livelihoods, and reducing pollution. With this being the fourth launch, ACCESS aims to expand to 10 cities.

The event was graced by Dr. Manju Bhadauriya (District Panchayat President of Agra) and Mrs. Nupur Singh (Wife of ADM Aajad Bagat Singh), whose encouragement reflected strong support from both society and the administration.

Women drivers from Holy City Rickshaws and Pink City Rickshaws also inspired the didis of Taj City Rickshaws by sharing their journeys, reminding them that this is not just a launch but a continuation of a powerful movement—one where they stand together for each other.

The day concluded with a ceremonial flag-off, as the rickshaws took to the streets with guests onboard, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Taj City Rickshaws.

Because this isn’t just a ride—it’s women taking the driver’s seat of their future. 🚀

✨ Agra, known for the magnificent Taj Mahal, also hides stories that often go unseen. ✨

Nearly 50% of Agra’s population which is about 8.5 lakh people lives across 432 identified slum communities. Access to dignified and sustainable livelihoods remains a pressing challenge in Agra.

Taj City Rickshaws, an initiative by ACCESS Development Services in partnership with Wild Frontiers, aims to change this by creating aspirational livelihood opportunities for 25 women from low-income households in Agra.

Trained to operate custom-designed e-rickshaws, these women will be the proud owners of this social enterprise, offering visitors an authentic way to explore the city while building sustainable incomes and independence.

Similar women-led initiatives have already been successfully implemented in (Pink City Rickshaw Company) Jaipur, (Holy City Rickshaws) Varanasi, and (Lake City Rickshaws) Udaipur, proving that inclusive tourism can drive both empowerment and impact.
