At just six years old, Suman has already known what it means to be left behind. Born with bilateral clubfoot in Nepal, his twisted feet made every step painful — and slowly, the things other children took for granted slipped out of reach.
He stopped going to school. He couldn't play with his friends. His parents, daily wage workers, simply couldn't afford the treatment he needed.
"We wished for him to walk like other children," his father shared.
Through a CBM-supported hospital, Suman underwent surgery and a series of plaster cast treatments. Step by step, his feet began to straighten — and so did his world.
"Now I can walk, play, and even go to school again," Suman said.
Because of CBM supporters, Suman's future is bright once more. Help change the lives of more children like Suman today: https://www.cbm.ie/donate

At just 8 years old, John was losing his sight to bilateral cataracts. Reading, playing, focusing in school — all of it slipped further out of reach with every blurred day.
His family lived day-to-day on his father's on-call welding jobs. Surgery was out of reach. "We prayed every day that someone would help John," his mother shared.
Through a CBM-supported programme, John's cataracts were removed and his vision restored. A month after a condition that threatened to leave him blind, he could see clearly again.
Today, he's back in school, thriving in maths, and dreaming of becoming an engineer. "Now I can read small letters and play with my friends," he said.
Because of CBM supporters, John's future is bright once more.

This Easter, as the world thinks about hope in the midst of darkness, we are reminded of the story of Mariya nd Ikilima, who at just 3 and 6 years old were at risk of growing up blind.
Their mother knew something was wrong—but like so many families, she couldn’t afford the treatment they needed.
Because of CBM supporters, they received life-changing surgery. Now, they are seeing, learning, and exploring the world with confidence.
