Kidala offers creative and team building workshops for kids in Schools, using the art form of Mandalas. The word Mandala means circle or centre... and is a circular, sometimes geometric art form. The Mandala originated about 2,000 years ago in ancient Tibet, and the Monks would use the Mandala as a form of Meditation.

Wow! What a day Friday was...πŸ’š

We were back in Mount Sackville School for another Mandala extravaganza!

Myself and Geoff Fitzpatrick had the best time ever helping all these beautiful little light beings make this shape.

This Mandala was designed by Geo Geoff (as we like to call him πŸ˜‰)

When each class came out, I taught an express dance warm up to some funky tunes🎢, to get them all excited to get their energy flowing... because Mandalas are about having FUN!! πŸŽ‰

The star had 7 points, so we were able to talk about the number 7 and some of its qualities...

7 days of the week
7 notes to the diatonic scale
7 colours of the Rainbow 🌈

All while explaining that Mandalas are about shape, color, nature, teamwork, mindfulness.. but most importantly, about being able to let go of it at the end... symbolising impermanence. Nothing lasts forever... and how important it is to be able to let things go with grace.

At the Breakdown Process... with all the classes standing around it, I got everyone to close their eyes and make a magic wish or think of something they were greatful for in their life. We all then threw our gratitude and wishes into the shape...

🌟 THIS WAS A MAGICAL MOMENT 🌟

It took us about an hour n half to draw the shape out.. using only chalk, some string and a few stones as weights.
From the beginning of the creation phase to the break down process.. it all only took about 5 hours!

🌈 Every single child was amazing.. so helpful, eager to learn and they all worked so beautiful in a teamwork environment. It was a pleasure to work with them 🌈

We are over the moon delighted and full of gratitude to be able to come back here to make Mandalas again... and can't wait to do more Mandalaing again oh so sooon!

Thank you Mount Sackville for all your wonderful kids and teachers!! πŸ’–

Until next time...

Much Love,

Tiny Pixie and Geoff
