My name is Owen R Pardue (Irish Citizen, husband, Therapist, Writer) and I am the creator of this fledgling organisation, one which I hope, after you understand our intention and purpose, you will see fit to support - either by choosing to become a POW! Simply put, POW! has been brought into existence for the edification of Irish Citizens. We do this in a threefold manner ~
-Assist citizens in ob
taining expert help with legal/judicial matters
-Educate citizens regarding Civil & Human Rights as well as Civil Activism
-Empower citizens to hold Public Officials responsible and accountable for their behaviour
Those of you who keep abreast of the news are likely already aware of the alarming increase in crime, corruption and collusion among public officials (including certain politicians and members of the legal system - judges, solicitors, civil servants, an Garda Siochana) and perhaps, like the growing number of POW! Members, you would like to play your part - however small or large - in helping eradicate this nefarious activity so that you and I may live free from fear in a more fair and just society.
“People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.”
― Alan Moore, from the movie ‘V for Vendetta’
Four years ago my life (as well as that of my wife) was turned upside down and ultimately destroyed when members of an Garda Siochana smashed in the front door to our apartment and accused me of a crime I did not commit. The manner in which we were treated was deplorable and in many instances unlawful. The psychological torture they used against us continues to this day. Having failed to provide a Book of Evidence against me in court, the case was struck out. Approximately 18 months ago, they were ordered by a judge in a court of law to return all property seized from my apartment, including my passports. They gave us the run around, doling items out in pieces. As of this writing, they still have in their possession a number of items that they simply refuse to return, causing much mental anguish and making it almost impossible for me to return to my previous career. Due to legal reasons, I cannot at this time go into more detail but will do as soon as I am able. In the meantime, my wife and I have committed ourselves to finding justice and helping others who have had or are having similar experiences. If there is any way in which we may be of service to you - or if you feel that you may be of any service to POW! - we invite you to get in touch. Thank you for taking the time to read this and we look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely yours,
Owen & Orla Pardue
