This summer, the picturesque village of Dooagh on Achill Island proudly celebrates the 10th anniversary of the much-loved Dooagh Day Festival – a joyous milestone that marks a decade of tradition, togetherness, and unforgettable memories. What began as a small local celebration has grown into a vibrant annual event that draws visitors from far and wide, all eager to experience the unique charm and warm hospitality of this special corner of the Wild Atlantic Way.

Over the past ten years, Dooagh Day has become a highlight on the local calendar, bringing the whole community together to showcase the best of island life. The 2025 festival promises to be our biggest celebration yet, with a packed programme of events for all ages. Expect a lively mix of live music, Dooagh Pipe Band, Rock the Boat, local crafts, and refreshment. There’ll be children’s activities, vintage games, parades, and maybe even a surprise or two!

In January 2014 a sea storm raged against the Achill coast! It stole the two benches from the top of Dooagh beach! But look who’s back!
