A cohort of 54 educators from four Garuda Schools of Excellence—comprising principals, vice principals, and teachers—participated in the workshop for operational preparation guidance from June 29 to July 2.

Organized by the Higher Education, Science, and Technology Ministry (Kemendiktisaintek), this initiative marks the initial step in cultivating top-tier national talent capable of global competition while maintaining a strong sense of national character. The closing ceremony of the briefing was attended by the Higher Education, Science, and Technology Deputy Ministers Fauzan and Stella Christie, alongside the Director General of Science and Technology, Ahmad Najib Burhani. Their presence reaffirmed Kemendiktisaintek’s commitment to ensuring that the Garuda schools successfully produce Indonesia’s future leaders—individuals characterized by excellence, integrity, and a global mindset.

The government officially launched the logo and visual identity for Indonesia’s 81st Independence Anniversary at the Presidential Palace on Monday. The selected logo is the work of a local designer, Fajar Novario from Padang, who successfully translated this year’s overarching theme: “Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”

Second Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardianto announced in a statement that the work of Fajar secured 44.7 percent of the total votes. He extended his congratulations to the designer, noting that the creation has officially been designated as the official logo for this year’s Independence Day celebrations.

The logo features bold visual lines backed by a powerful philosophy. The design concept was derived from an extensive exploration of traditional motifs from various regions across the Indonesian archipelago.
